QEF Timber Brise Soleil Systems

Introduction

QEF offer a range of Cedar Brise Soleil manufactured from a combination of extruded aluminium components and Western Red Cedar. All cedar is sourced from Canada and certified No.2 Clear and better grade, kiln dried, with random or vertical grain as required. QEF Cedar Brise Soleil is manufactured to the project design with Cedar machined to plank or aerofoil profile.

The Mitchelstown Medical Centre project feature illustrates the use of Western Red Cedar brise soleil to provide solar shading in the vertical plane for the glazed facade at the main entrance and horizontal brise soleil with strut supports elsewhere.

The Scott Tallon Walker Architects design called for clear grade all vertical grain planed planks in natural finish. The powder coated aluminium support system incorporates s/s fixings, concealed where possible. The brise soleil system was supplied and installed for the glazing contractors, Velfac Ltd.
